18/12/2020: Professor Costantinos Cartalis explained to students of Geitonas School the climate change via online meeting.

Constantinos Cartalis is a Professor in the Department of Environmental Physics and Meteorology Director of the Department of Environment Physics (since 1.12.2017) in National and Kapodistrian University of Athens –Greece.

27/01/2021: Teacher Natalia Tsami and the students who participate in PULCHRA project attended the on line seminar:

“Educational methods in support of science and science education for Cities as Urban Ecosystems”

16/4/2021: Dr. Tasos Polydoros talked to students about the “Utilization of satellite remote sensing techniques for the control of urban heating”. 

Dr. Tasos Polydoros is a member of Constantinos Cartalis’ scientific team at Physics Department of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).

Development Of The City Challenges

The science team was divided in groups per class and each group created a PowerPoint presentation depending on their selected theme.

The science team made an experimental campaign inside the school premises. Three group of students took surface temperature measurements with a handheld infrared thermometer.

The first measurements were done on  21/4/2021 from the 1st High school class.

The second measurements were done on 23/4/2021 from the 1st High school class and the third measurement were made on  10/5/2021 from the 2nd secondary grade.
