The work is structured with the start of moments of brainstorming on the themes of the project by stimulating the students with textual and digital materials. The brainstorming is followed by a work of cooperative learning among groups with the production of ideas, analysis sheets, maps and proposals. Finally, the material is summarized in a single document which is presented and discussed by the whole group of students.

– 28th January 2021. The first Pulchra workshop
During the online event, the City Science Teams presented their project idea. The workshop was attended by professors from the University of Udine, botanists and stakeholders. It is possible, for an animal, to move in the urban environment through green paths/areas? The presented idea consists on the identification of a transfer path, from home to school, from the human and animal point of view, in order to define a map of ecological corridors. Pulchra Dissemination Hackathon – How to communicate science? Laboratories and brainstorming with the students of the italian schools ISIS “Bassa Friulana” of Cervignano del Friuli, IIS “Il Tagliamento” of Spilimbergo and ITS “Deledda-Fabiani” of Trieste.
29-31 March, the “communication Science Team” partecipated to hackathon activities: a Challenge Based Learning laboratory on the communication of scientific initiatives. Students had the opportunity to learn “how communicate science” in an active way: student working groups (Teams), mentors and communication experts. This occasion was an opportunity to interact and work together with the other schools of the italian Pulchra network. 18th November 2021. Second Pulchra workshop: end of activities of the first city challenge
The Pulchra workshop was organised at the Deledda-Fabiani institute in Trieste in person and was also accessible online. Students involved in the project presented the work conducted during the year and the results obtained. Classes from different curricula collaborated analysing the topic of ecological connectivity and using different tools and approaches. Ecological pathways were identified and mapped, plant species were determined and pollinator preferences monitored, ideas on community involvement were also presented. The Head of the Institute, the University of Udine, the Trieste municipality, the association Legambiente and the Carsiana botanical garden attended the workshop. A fruitful discussion followed student presentations, where the Trieste municipality encouraged the participation of the school in next future planning and monitoring of green areas in the city.
