Hi,
we are pupils of the Úprkova Primary School in Hradec Králové.
We care about the surroundings of our school. The land where our school is located, is almost in the city center, is open to the public. An educational trail “Czech landscape” has been built on it. This trail is already quite dilapidated and obsolete. Our goal is to build a place around the school where people will meet, a place in greenery and nature.
Our school garden, is open to the public and pupils and citizens from the surrounding area spend quite a lot of time there. We chose this space because of the high number of visitors and also because nothing new has been done here for a long time. We also wanted to increase the biodiversity of the place and to use research to bring information about the importance of greenery in the city.
Our goal was to equip the garden with bird houses for different bird species, repair and modify the insect hotel so that the insects would be pleased to stay with us. The aim of the research was that the results help us to set everything up correctly
