How to ensure an equal place for man and nature in our city?
The project team will study how our city and region has changed in recent years, how much it has developed and how the proportion of greenery has changed over the years.
In the next stage, the project team will look for solutions to change the uninteresting, especially the central part of Lowicz, in order to propose solutions, also with a view to providing more space for people and nature.

On February 1st and 8th, the project team organized an interesting events – a videoconference, meeting the needs of the local project entitled “How to ensure an equal place for man and nature in our city?” The meeting was attended by representatives of the center for ecological activities “Źródła”. During the meeting students learned the importance of greenery in the city and how unfavorable concrete is to life.
On May 18th, workshops for the project team from Secondary School No. 2 in Łowicz, were organized. Professional classes were conducted by employees of the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography of the Warsaw University of Technology: PhD. Katarzyna Rędzińska and M.Sc. Monika Piotrkowska The workshops were conducted remotely. Students worked in the Mural application, where they posted solutions to specific problems included in the design challenge: “How to ensure an equal place for man and nature in our city?” For the participants, the classes were very interesting because they were based on the development of the areas they live in and where they often visit.
During the workshop, students analysed the environmental problems of Łowicz and what can be changed in our city. They learned how to form vegetation in the city, how to manage rainwater, what surfaces to use to make them environmentally friendly. Students also designed new green areas: functional and spatial layouts of the planned parks and green areas.
In May, the project team had a metting with the representative of the City Council in Łowicz, Mr. Tadeusz Zaczek. The meeting discussed the current situation in Łowicz – the problem of the lack of greenery in various parts of our city and the air pollution.
At the end of June, as a part of the summary of this year’s project activities, students presented the effects of their work to the representatives of City Council in Łowicz, including those areas which, in their opinion, should be changed in Łowicz.
