In this project, “George Coșbuc” National Bilingual College enjoys the support of the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest / Faculty of Biology, of the Faculty of Geography, the University of Bucharest, of the Măgurele Science Park and of the Terra Mileniul III Foundation.
In the PULCHRA project, students are encouraged and supported to observe their own city as an urban ecosystem, by choosing a relevant environmental issue for investigation and coming up with sustainable development strategies to deal with it.
The urban environment challenge for Romania is: The regeneration of urban space to connect people to a healthy environment.
In this challenge, the students of the “George Coșbuc” National Bilingual College started from the research question: “What is the influence of the quality of the external environment on the quality of the environment?”, and the working hypothesis is: “Does the quality of the outdoor environment influence the temperature, humidity, noise level and environmental hazards in Bucharest?”
Scientific research teams consisting of students, teachers, other interested parties will explore and disseminate results and data relevant to the chosen challenge.
Some of the team members will be science reporters; they will develop a communication strategy regarding the project and its results.
