Project description

Our project will be a form of case study on how to transform the concrete space of the city into an environmentally friendly one and with a particular focus on water retention. We plan to create rain gardens, use an irrigation basin system and transform the concrete area into a useful space for the whole school community (between the 7M classroom and IT classroom, up to the 2M classroom). The aim of the project will be to collect the rain, examine its properties, and the infiltration properties of the substrate made of different types of material. The entire space is to be enriched with wooden elements that will have a useful function of benches.

Space to revitalization

On the 18th of December 2020 took place the first online meeting all project team with our partners: Botanical Garden of Adam Mickiewicz University, FormaT Architectural Office, representatives of Poznan University of Technology and Poznan University of Life Sciences. We presented our ideas and first sketches of our imaginations how to change space intended for the rain garden. We discussed our ideas and possible solutions. We focused on how to transform the built-up area into an environmentally friendly space in a effectively way. Thanks to our guests, we learned what plant species are worth to focus on. Our partners presented us contemporary buildings that are based on vegetation, including Singapore Botanic Gardens, which elements can be used in our project. We got a lot of different sources to check and invitation to Botanical Garden for workshop. The meeting enriched our knowledge, thanks to which we can improve our project.

Dnia 18.12.2020 roku odbyło się pierwsze spotkanie naszego zespołu projektowego z przedstawicielami ogrodu botanicznego Koła Ogrodników Uniwersytetu Przyrodniczego i biura architektonicznego FormaT.
Przedstawiliśmy im nasze szkice zagospodarowania przestrzeni przeznaczonej na ogród deszczowy. Omawialiśmy nasze pomysły i dyskutowaliśmy o możliwych rozwiązań.
Skupiliśmy się jak w skuteczny sposób przekształcić zabudowany teren na przestrzeń przyjazną środowisku.
Dzięki naszym gościom dowiedzieliśmy się na jakich roślinach warto się skupić.
Przedstawiono nam współczesne dzieła budowli, które opierają się na roślinności, m.in. Ogrody Botaniczne w Singapurze, których elementy można wykorzystać w naszym projekcie.
Spotkanie wzbogaciło naszą wiedzę, dzięki której możemy udoskonalić nasz projekt.

On the 15 th May 2021 took place secend meeting of our project team. We learnt about the hardness and properties of water and how to measure the pH of water. We conducted a chemical experiment.

Dnia 15 maja 2021 odbyło się kolejne spotkanie naszego zespołu projektowego. Sprawdzaliśmy jaką twardość i jakie właściwości ma woda i jak można mierzyć jej pH . Przeprowadzaliśmy eksperymenty chemiczne.
