A traffic count has been performed at the school gates.
Tracked local weather patterns for period tubes were up.

The results from the air monitoring showed clear reasons why we should encourage more students to cycle to school.
Separate surveys were sent to parents and to students to discover reasons that held them back from cycling in particular. For those within 5km, issues such as proximity of cycle paths to major roads, weight of schoolbags and awkwardness of sport kit and storage facilities for bikes were raised.
The school initiated a phased program of installing larger lockers for students. This resulted in increased number of students cycling to school during the last term.
Students from the current TY were interested in building upon this TY project.
They conducted another traffic count at the school gate to see how students are getting to school.
They decided to pursue the storage option. They consulted with students that currently cycle to see what they would like to improve their experience and what they believed would encourage others. We currently have a small amount of cycle parking, exposed to the weather.
They put together a proposal to seek funding for a covered bike shelter from the senior management and facilities team.
Quotes were sought, and passed onto the facilities team.
A count of cyclists each day is being undertaken. The plan is following completion of the installation of the shelter, that we will continue our count to measure the success of our actions.
