Green-Schools is an environmental education programme and award scheme for schools. Participating schools create an environmental management plan based around a number of thematic areas including Litter, Waste, Energy, Water, Travel, Biodiversity, Food, Marine Environment and Global Citizenship. Participants create Action Plans to achieve targets in relation to improving their environmental performance. It is a whole school, student-led, action-based behaviour change programme designed to encourage a sustainable ethos in the school community.
